today was my 29th birthday and my friends went it on an espresso machine for me. i was surprised...shocked...ecstatic...blessed beyond flippin' words! i'm blown away by their generousity and love. i will be making lots and lots of espresso's...my roomie and i were talking about opening an internet cafe up at our house! we could pay our staff fees that way. ha, ha! just kidding. after i was given the espresso machine, we brought it home and had an intimate gathering with fondue, coffee and a fun german surprise!

oh, yes! i almost forgot...my espresso machine's name is NORBERT! Norb...Norbie...Norbs. We are already great friends. he is a chunk of stainless steel beauty and i will enjoy him for many months/years to come.

i am loved and that's an amazing feeling.

i can't believe that it's snowing in seattle at all, let alone in november. it makes me miss home like crazy...just wanting to bundle up and take a walk in the cold to a nice, warm coffee shop where i would sit and read for hours while the snow piled up outside. my friends sent me photos of the snow and i saw the snow falling at the seahawks game on tv. it's absolutely nuts!

well, i'm having one of those moments where i'm realizing the incredible blessings in my life. first of all, i'm surrounded by beautiful, amazing people here in townsville as well as encouraged and loved by family and friends at home and all around the fricken world. why is it that sometimes all i can see is my circumstances? sometimes i just stew in my insecurities, doubts and fears...oh, it's hideous! i am surrounded by beauty...completely...on all sides! and if the beauty of people isn't enough...there are colors and trees and leaves and gorgeous hues in the sky...there are sights and sounds and smells...like the smell of coffee...oh, i love it!

so here's to the belief that life is beautiful and i'll be seeking to see that beauty more in my life...
